We conduct frequent and regular meetings with investment managers to enable us to arrive at qualitative judgements with regard to the individuals, the investment process and the organisation. We combine this assessment with a systematic portfolio analysis to check whether its investment and risk profile, as well as security specific fundamental characteristics, are consistent with our clear expectations.

This analysis serves as a platform to arrive at meaningful conclusions about our level of confidence in a manager for the future. We adopt a proactive rather than reactive stance when it comes to recommending manager changes.
